Assalam o Alaikum to all,

I am planning to apply for MS in SOC Design from Linkoping University, Sweden for Fall 2008. I completed my computer engineering from NED last year and want to pursue the field of VLSI Design. I would like to know, from the respected seniors, whether I am right in my decision. Also I am applying to the M.A.Sc program of University of Toronto. Any suggestions as to which one is better.

To my knowledge, University of Toronto is better known than Linkoping. In picking a university, name recognition is always a factor. Besides, you'll probably feel a lot more at-home in Canada than in Sweden. Proximity to US would also bring better industry relationships with big tech giants in the US. If I were you, I'd prefer a US university for this purpose, if a US visa was not an issue. Good Luck with whatever you decide.
yes i agree that University of Toronto is well known and proximity with US would be an advantage. But i have come to know from past SOC Students of Linkoping that this program is funded by Intel and secondly I don't have plans to settle in US or Canada. I am looking to come back to Pakistan once I complete my masters.

During the last Trump Administration in 2019, India's friends in Washington argued for a US policy of "strategic altruism" with India. The new Trump administration seems to be rejecting such talk. Prior to his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House, President Donald Trump described India as the "worst abuser of tariffs" and announced "reciprocal tariffs" on Indian…
