“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sacrifices, determination and hard work.” This was said by the team who is going to make Pakistan stand on a great international platform in Europe this year. The project, ‘Solar Car’, is the brainchild of Team CLAPTRIX, a group of eight students —Muhammad Yousuf Abbas, Danish Muhammad Saleem, Faaiz Baqer, Murtaza Ahmed, Ali Siddique, Akif Jawed, Arsalan Usmani and Fahadur Rehman of NED University of Engineering and Technology — who spent four months and Rs 400,000 on the project so far.

Last year, some of the blessed students of this brilliant team from NED-UET had achieved a target to make Pakistan stand on an international platform by participating in ‘Shell Eco Marathon Asia, 2011’ held in Malaysia from July 6-9, 2011 on F1 Track by making a solar-powered car having efficient fuel consumption and an eco-friendly drive. They have initiated an idea for the betterment of economic crisis in the world and as well as in Pakistan by using alternate fuel ie solar.
