Pakistan registers 727 new coronavirus cases with 21 more deaths

The number of corona cases in the country has climbed to 281,863 on Thursday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database, 727 persons have contracted the deadly virus in 24 hours.

As per sources, cases in Sindh jumped to 122,373 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 93,847, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases mounted to 34,359, in Balochistan 11,793 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 15,141, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 2,234, while 2,116 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 6,035 deaths so far, after 21 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Sindh recorded 2,245 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,162 in Punjab, 1,215 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 136 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 167 deaths and AJK recorded 55 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 2,058,872 corona tests and 15,001 in last 24 hours and 256,058 patients have recovered across Pakistan.

Reportedly, 113996 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 85232 in Punjab, 30057 in KP, 10258 in Balochistan, 12833 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 1846 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 1836 patients have been completely recovered whereas 809 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
