More monsoon rains are expected in parts of Sindh today (Saturday) as weather forcasters predicted showers in the province from Friday to Monday.
According to sources, the Irrigation Department has issued directions to Chief Engineer Guddu Braj, Kotri, Sukkur Braj, SIDA Hyderabad in view of forecast of more rains for Sindh.
Heavy rains are continuing across the country including Sindh and Balochistan this year.
After the prediction of more rains, the Irrigation Department wrote a letter to the concerned authorities and issued instructions to Chief Engineer Guddu Braj, Kotri, Sukkur Braj, SIDA Hyderabad.
The Irrigation Department says heavy rains are expected from August 22 to 25.
Security measures should be taken and the situation should be monitored continuously.
The Meteorological Department has said that the fifth spell of monsoon has started from now.
Weather forecasters have predicted more monsoon rains in Sindh from today to Monday.
A day earlier, new spell of monsoon rain in Karachi has wreaked havoc and tripped hundreds of K electric feeders.
The areas extremely affected by the heavy rain are Surjani Town, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Gulberg, Orangi Town, Yousuf Goth, Gadap Town, Sohrab Goth and others.
The downpour has also caused massive traffic jams, creating difficulties for commuters and roads and streets turned into canals.
On the other hand, heavy rains in Hyderabad have inundated low-lying areas with roads completely submerged while electricity supply from 190 feeders in HESCO region was also suspended.
Heavy rains also lashed Tharparkar, Umerkot, Khapro, Kandyari, Kunri, Daulatpur while Nawabshah, Dadu, Tando Allahyar, Lasbela, Mirpur Khas, Shahdadpur, Sanghar, Tando Adam, Thatta and other areas also flooded.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rainfall to hit the city under the influence of a low-pressure system of monsoon winds that is currently in India's Rajasthan. Karachi may recieve 100mm rain from Friday to Monday. 
The weather office official said, the city will receive light to moderate showers today and tomorrow.
In its report, the office said, a low-pressure area in India's Rajasthan will cause widespread rains and windstorms in Sindh. Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Dadu, Hyderabad, Badin, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana and others may recieve widespread rains with wind and thunderstorm from today, report added. 
According to Met office, new monsoon spell will generate widespread rains in the country during next three to four days.
As per the weather office, more rain is expected in different cities of the country during the next 24 hours.
Rain with thundershowers is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad and Sahiwal in upper Punjab, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda and Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa and Kashmir from coming Wednesday to Friday.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera and Kashmir may receive heavy downpour while scattered rain with thunderstorm will hit Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur, Waziristan, Bannu, D.I Khan, Zhob, Musakhel and Barkhan during this period.
Heavy showers are also expected in Lasbella, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Moosa Khel and other areas, the Met office predicted.
The weather office has also warned against flash flooding in local nullah/streams of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir as heavy rainfall expected to hit these areas.Downpour is also predicted at isolated places in northeast Balochistan and southeastern Sindh.
