In spite of the lockdown, coronavirus continues to spread and target lives across the globe and force people to stay at home. The number of officially confirmed cases globally has crossed 2 million with 154,422 fatalities while 578,359 patients have reportedly recovered.
As per sources, 2,259,705 people have been reported infected by the novel coronavirus across the world.
The declared cases have been registered in 213 countries and territories since the first cases identified in China in December 2019.
The US has the most patients, according to Johns Hopkins, the number of cases in the US reached 712,184. The United States on Saturday posted nearly 37,175 deaths from COVID-19, higher than any other nation and 63,510 have recovered.
On the other hand, France recorded 18,681 deaths so far, with 147,969 cases and 34,420 recovered.
Italy reported 22,745 deaths, with 172,434 cases and 42,727 have recovered.
Moreover, 190,839 cases reported in Spain with 20,002 fatalities and 74,797 have completely recovered.
In addition, United Kingdom recorded 108,692 cases with 14,576 deaths.
79,494 cases were reported in Iran with 4,958 deaths.
The global pandemic is causing an economic crisis unlike any in the past century and will require a massive response to ensure recovery, IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva said.
Belgium confirmed 37,183 cases while the number of deaths rose to 5,453 whereas China (Mainland) has recorded 82,719 COVID-19 cases with 4,632 deaths.
So far, Germany cases climbed to 141,397 and death toll stood at 4,352 while Netherlands reported 30,449 infections with 3,459 fatalities.
On the other side, 34,221 cases of coronavirus in Brazil while number of deaths mounted to 2,171.
