ECC to meet today to discuss five-point agenda

The meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will be held today (Wednesday) to discuss a five-point agenda.

According to sources, Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will chair the meeting which will take place in the federal capital.

The meeting will give approval to additional gas supply to SSGCL from Rehman Gas Field, sources informed.

The meeting is also expected to approve the coastal area survey.

The committee will also consider the agreement to purchase electricity from Iran during the meeting.

An agreement to buy 104 megawatts of electricity from Iran is also possible.

A summary to end charges on Afghan transit cargo, containers parked at the Karachi port will be tabled in the meeting.
