DigiKhata, Velocity’s 7th Cohort Startup Has Partnered with Telenor Pakistan and Easypaisa

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) provide a big chunk when it comes to the growth of economies globally. SMEDA (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority) says that, In Pakistan, SMEs have a 40% contribution to the GDP.

Moreover, the majority of the businesses in the whole world come under the category of SMEs and they generate over 50% of jobs worldwide. 

In our country, SMEs provide jobs to 78% of the non-agricultural labor force. MSMEs make up over 99% of all businesses in Pakistan and they facilitate economic growth in several ways like job creation, financial transformation, and higher value addition to the GDP.

Empowering MSMEs means empowering the country’s economy. For this reason, DigiKhata, which is Telenor Velocity’s 7th cohort startup is proud to announce its partnership with Telenor Pakistan and Easypaisa to discover an extensive tech-based solution.

You might be wondering what the Telenor Velocity program is.

For those who don’t know, Telenor Velocity is a startup accelerator program that collaborates with growth startups allowing partnership opportunities confirming scale.

Digikhata offers digital bookkeeping to Pakistani MSMEs and business owners will be able to record business transactions and sell Telenor Pakistan’s recharge from our app. Already trusted by more than one million registered businesses, our app has become popular with MSMEs countrywide.

It has collected USD 2 million in just one round of seed funding in 2020 and it is only moving forward. The next big step is this association with Telenor Pakistan which will enable the app’s users to sell the company’s recharge to their customers.

Furthermore, the collaboration with Easypaisa has enabled Digikhata to launch a new payment solution through which MSMEs owners could send and collect payments via the app.

The partnership contract was signed by Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Operating Officer Telenor Pakistan and Adnan Aslam, CEO DigiKhata, at Telenor Pakistan’s headquarter 345 today.
