The number of COVID-19 cases in Russia crossed 1 million on Tuesday after 4,729 people have been infected.
Accordign to sources, the fourth worst-hit country's confirmed coronavirus infection tally in Russia reached 1,000,048 while the death toll rose to 17,299 after 123 fatalities were reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
Despite the implementation of strict restrictions, the countries all over the world are experiencing continuous spike in COVID-19 related cases and deaths.
The number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has passed 25 million (25,904,605), according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 861,271 lives worldwide so far and 18,196,508 patients have been recuperated.
The number of people infected with corona in the world's hardest-hit country the US has risen to 6,257,571 and the total number of deaths has reached 188,900.
Brazil, the second hardest-hit country reported 3,952,790 cases with 122,681 deaths.
India is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 3,769,523 patients and 66,460 deaths. It has the fifth-most deaths and its fatality rate of about 2pc is far lower than the other hardest-hit countries.
South Africa, the fifth highest number of infections in the world, after the US, Brazil, India and Russia.
The death toll from Coronavirus in South Africa has risen nearly 14,260, with 628,259 people affected.
In Peru, the death tally has jumped to 29,068, with 657,129 infections.
On the other hand, Mexico reported 606,036 cases so far with 65,241 fatalities.
The coronavirus has infected more than 413,145 people in Chile and left 11,321 dead.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 470,973, with 29,152 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 337,168 and death toll rose to 41,504.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 376,894 and 21,672 have been died.

A recent terrorist attack on April 22 in Kashmir has killed 26 Indian tourists.
