Zardari to take action on non issuance of posting orders to merit test passed teachers

The test for recruitment, appointments and postings of High School Teachers (HST) was taken in all the districts of Sindh Province on April 24, 2009. Merit test for Junior School Teachers (JST) was taken on the next day on April25, 2009 and for recruiting Primary School Teachers (PST) was taken on April 26, 2009 across the Sindh. The results were declared on the website of the University of Sindh within the next four days of taking test. Fifth month has been started after holding merit test but the test passed teachers have not been issued the posting or appointment letters yet. The website of "Sindh Education and Literacy Department" is running a slide regarding this matter which says, "There are seventeen thousand (17000) vacancies of teachers in Sindh. The department has appointed seven thousand (7000) teachers last year. The new appointments are of teachers are under process." While on the occasion of the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Karachi last time after the merit tests of teachers, in a meeting with the Sindh Cabinet and with the members of MQM delegation, it was decided that Sindh Government will recruit, appoint and post the vacancies in all the departments of Sindh on purely merit base. Mr. Zardari was agreed on that decision. So why is there much late in issuing he appointment, posting and offer letters to the merit test passed teachers? The academic session has been started after the completion of summer vacation. The students are suffering that they have no teachers to teach them in a great number of schools in Sindh. The students will lose their current academic session due to non issuance of job offer letters to the merit test passed teachers. I think, "There is something wrong" in this matter. Some political high ups are interested to get their people be appointed and posted forcibly. Remember that 99 percent polling staff on the time of polling day in election process is always being posted from education department. These teachers and college lecturers in majority work in the polling stations on the polling day. Political parties wish and try that their party workers be appointed in a great number so that they would be able to get benefit by them on polling day.
